A Destination

Located inside the historic Main Street Station building, the Viroqua Public Market is a place where local vendors sell a variety of goods in a space designed to look like an outdoor market that is actually indoors and open throughout the year.

The street lamps, large fountain, and occasional tree add to the ambiance and give the impression of being outside, at a quaint European street market; with details down to hand-painted brick walls and a real pair ring-neck doves.

A Unique Experience

Besides the large courtyard area, there are four smaller shops and three large street-front stores. The main street shops include: Bramble Books, VIVA Art Gallery, and Rooted Spoon Kitchen Table. Inside you can find Greenman Music and Essence of Clarity (a new age healing center).

Handcrafted Gifts

Stroll through the beautiful art gallery, the charming bookstore, or browse the great selection of jewelry, gifts, candy and canned goods, and antiques in the market. There is a wide variety of items...you won't believe it! There is truly something for everyone.

Farmers Market

In the winter, we host the indoor farmers market. Coffee can always be found across the street at Blue Dog (Brew Dog), and 16 flavors of ice cream can be found just down the street at Dave's Pizza. In the summer, the Viroqua Farmer's Market is just across the street, every Saturday.

Every vendor offers a unique product, from amish baskets to one of a kind jewelry--even antiques and comic books.

For nine years, we've tried to bring great shopping to the area by working with local vendors of all sorts. From Amish to jewelry makers, candy makers to antique dealers, they've all found a place in our historic building.

We've had weddings, festivals, concerts, and plays in the courtyard over the years. We've watched kids grow up and people fall in love. We've greeted visitors from all over the world; locals who still remember the building when it was a car dealership, and scores of folks from around the state.

All this, we've done as a family. Our "extended" family of multiple business-owners, artists, and restauranteurs who have come and gone from the Main Street Station store fronts, some still remaining, has grown, too.

We've watched the community of Viroqua grow and prosper, ever evolving into a more and more beautiful place to be. Thank you all for your continued support. We hope to serve you for many years to come.

Viva Gallery

The VIVA Gallery Cooperative is a group of local artists coming together to showcase art. We began business as a cooperative in April, 2004. Our mission is to create an awareness in the Viroqua community of the variety of art that is being made right here at home. Our gallery provides a welcoming place to see art, foster the imaginaition, and give inspiration. If you are inclined to make a purchase--you are supporting a local artist and the idea of "thinking globally and acting locally."
